Hardware store cat recognizes a friendly customer, surprising them post-rescue with a litter of 5 kittens: 'Yes, we currently have nine cats in our house!'

After living in a hardware store, this kitty became a new hoMEOWner (and a mama!).

A cat used to be a skittish, scaredy-cat outside the local hardware store, but then one day, a cat lover and loyal customer noticed a big difference. As if she had grown tired of a life on the street, this kitty flipped a friendly feline switch and came running to a kindhearted hooman, meowing for aid and hoping they'd help her. With what, you might ask? Well, this kitty had a surprise duplication spell brewing in her belly, and she knew just the exact cat-loving hooman who could help her and keep her safe.

Turns out, this kitty wasn't just looking for a new home for herself, but her 5 kittens as well.

Felines are reserved and rarely show their affections. While they're full of love and cuddles, cats reserve their sweetness for only the most special of humans, which is what makes them so unique. Unlike dogs, who wag their tails with every stranger, cats have a select few human friends who deserve every ounce of their love. This kitten, a once lonely tabby cat, was afraid of the humans before she felt life inside her tummy. Knowing she was going to become a cat mama, she decided to take a leap of faith and trust the bipedal giants who frequented her local hangout.

Instead of running away like usual, she stood her ground and mewed meekly, hoping that her intuition was correct about the cat-loving humans who pspspsed in her direction. Alas, they were as kind as they were eager to help her, purroving that she chose correctly in her human selection.

These humans deserved every ounce of her affection, and soon, they would be drowning in the clouds and snuggles of 6 new cats, 5 of which were nearly blind, totally helpless, and completely adorable street kittens who needed a furrever home of their own. Alas, when it comes to human/cat relationships, felines can always count on the humans who pspsps their way into the hearts of the feline community, because those cat lovers will always be loyal to the kitty cause.

On a freezing cold day, I was having lunch and outside my window I spied a gray calico kitten huddled in the windowsill outside, shivering and frightened. I went outside and she climbed in my arms crying. When I took her to my car, she escaped and vanished. After work, I returned to find her sitting on a riding mower in front of the hardware shop. She recognized me and called out. This time she did not run, she was ready to be housed.
We live in college town where young students adopt pets and discard them when their landlords catch them sneaking animals in their apartments. It seemed this kitten who we named Aphrodite, had been housed before. We posted on the local pages and no one claimed her. We took her to the vet to check for a chip. Then we checked for worms, which she had, and got her [poked].

We weren’t looking for a fourth cat, but decided to keep her. Then she began to grow and we knew, our girl was pregnant. We worried because she was small, but with some help on the first kitten, she took to it like a seasoned vet and birthed five kittens. Yes, we currently have nine cats in our house! She’s been a good mother and the kittens are healthy and soon we will be adopting them to loving homes.
